Personal health is a major concern for everybody today. Unlike in the past when our bodies seemed to be tougher and more resilient to diseases and ailments, today our bodies seem to need a lot of care and maintenance to ensure that we remain healthy. Maintaining our bodies in good health is a tough important challenge for every individual, it is however tougher for the women at home with children to look out for.
I have four children and I am a full time mom. My dream ever since when I was a young girl was having a large family and caring for them. I was blessed to get a good husband with a good job and so I did not have to continue with my marketing job. I quit immediately I had my first child. Ever since, my full time job has been to look after my children and maintain the home.
During the time raising my children, I have encountered numerous challenges that have been quite educative albeit at times being quite unnerving. The most unnerving time was when I was raising my first born child. This was because I did not have any experience and every small issue was a scary, ominous, and seemed life threatening for my child.
Small issues such as a cough would get me so worried that I would call the personal doctor numerous times before I could get reassured and finally relax. If the child developed a fever, I would get so anxious and panic till I would get all confused.
I however slowly learnt to relax and I learnt how to handle many of the conditions and health issues that I came across in the children.
Most importantly, I learnt how to properly take care of the children so as to prevent them from getting sick or from lacking anything that would impede their growth. I realized that proper nutrition was vital. I therefore ensured that I would always serve them with proper balanced diets that were especially rich in the nutrients necessary for them.
Healthy foods such as hummus and other homemade recipes were the most dominant dishes for my kids.
As I carefully managed the diet of my children, I also made sure that I also paid keen attention to my husband’s and my own diet. Our needs were not similar to those of the children. Whereas at one time my children could comfortably feed on energy laden foods, my husband and I needed to regulate our energy consumption lest we added on unnecessary weight.
As my kids continued to grow, their nutritional and health demands also changed. When they hit their teens, I had multiple concerns due to the changes in my children. I had two adolescent girls and adolescent boys to deal with. It was especially tricky handling the girls due to the many changes in their bodies.
For the boys all I had to deal with was a greatly increased appetite and instances of acute acne which I controlled with remedies such as apple cider vinegar, aloe-vera products, and other natural remedies.
